Iron and manganese removal filtration equipment
Product details
In the water treatment industry, iron and manganese removal filtration equipment is not very common because trace elements such as iron and manganese are not present in water in every region. Why is this said? It can be seen from the amount of this equipment used. Generally, companies that come to purchase water treatment equipment will first understand reverse osmosis equipment and softening water equipment. Consultation for these two types of equipment is quite common. Iron and manganese removal filtration equipment is recommended based on the customer's water quality after communicating with them, inquiring about and understanding the water quality and water quality report.
The main thing I want everyone to understand this time is the characteristics of the iron and manganese removal filtration equipment product, as well as the precautions during installation. Let's learn about it together with the Tianyu editor.
1、 Product characteristics of iron and manganese removal filtration equipment
The DH series groundwater iron and manganese removal filter is an integrated energy-saving water treatment equipment jointly developed by our company and the French Environmental Engineering Technology Research Center.
1. Aeration section: No aeration tank or tower is required, and no chemicals or catalysts need to be added. Only a small amount of air needs to be added, which can reduce operating costs.
2. The main body of the equipment is a unique device that integrates processes such as strong oxidation reaction, separation and sand removal device, and grouped suspended filtration tank.
3. Filter section: Due to the presence of its own backwashing device inside the filter, there is no need to equip a backwashing water pump and backwashing water tank, which can reduce project land occupation and lower project investment.
4. The pressure filter has a high backwashing intensity, which ensures uniform backwashing of the filter layer without forming dead corners. The backwashing time is short, the filtration cycle is long, and the service life of the filter material is extended.
5. This device can directly supply water to the user's pipeline network without the need for a clean water tank and a secondary pump station, reducing equipment investment and avoiding secondary pollution.
The iron (manganese) filter should be placed on a horizontal concrete foundation, which should be stable to prevent uneven settlement.
The backwash cycle is generally determined based on the pressure of the treated water quality. When the difference between the inlet and outlet pressure gauges reaches the allowable head loss value of the equipment, backwashing should be carried out. When the iron (manganese) content in the filtered water exceeds the specified value, backwashing should be carried out immediately.
The filter material of the iron (manganese) remover should be sandblasted and sorted annually, and the layering of the filter material should be observed. If thinning of the filter layer is found, it should be replenished in a timely manner.
When running for one cycle, the filter material should be backwashed or cleaned when there is a change in water quality. The method should be carried out according to the operating procedures. After flushing is completed and the water quality is tested to be qualified, it can be put back into normal operation.
The water quality can only reach the qualified standard after 7-8 days of operation of the newly installed equipment. This equipment uses natural manganese sand as the filtering medium. The principle of iron removal is that divalent iron ions in groundwater, after being aerated and filtered through the filter layer, are adsorbed by the biofilm covering the surface of the filter material, and are oxidized by dissolved oxygen under catalytic action, and adsorbed on the filter material. The trivalent iron oxide generated by oxidation participates in a new catalytic reaction as a new filter membrane, and the excess oxide is washed away by backwashing after one cycle of water production. The principle of manganese removal is the same as above. Due to the principle of ion selective absorption, the filter layer removes iron first and then manganese. At a pH value of 6.8-, Fe (OH) 3 forms a colloidal precipitate that can be removed by filtration. When iron containing groundwater is filtered through a natural manganese sand filter, the manganese sand filter plays two roles in the iron content of the water:
Catalysis and oxidation accelerate the oxidation of divalent iron to trivalent iron in water.

The interception and separation process separates iron from water and traps it in the filter layer. These two processes are usually completed simultaneously in the manganese sand filter layer.
